 In a spirited rally held in Kitimba Ward on 5thJanuary, 2026, Honourable Ingrid Kamateneti Turinawe, the contesting Member of Parliament under the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), outlined her vision for a progressive Rukungiri Municipality, pledging her commitment to development, equality, and community empowerment.

Addressing a vibrant crowd of supporters, Turinawe articulated her agenda, focusing on vital issues that directly impact residents’ daily lives. She emphasized the critical need for improved transport networks, stating, “Safe and reliable roads are essential for our economic growth and accessibility.” Turinawe also promised to tackle the pressing water crisis by extending access to clean drinking water, a lifeline for many households in the area.

Healthcare, a cornerstone of her campaign, was another key focus. “We need to modernize our health institutions to ensure that our people receive the best medical care possible,” she said. Additionally, she pledged to push for electricity extension to underserved communities and enhance the quality of education by improving local institutions, arguing that education is foundational for sustainable development.
