“Avoid politicians who divide you through religions”, Minister Muhwezi urges residents

The Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament who is also the Security Minister Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has advised people to shun politicians who divide them basing on religion affiliations.

Minister Muhwezi made the remarks on Sunday 11th December 2022 while officiating at the fundraising towards the completion of Kigaaga Catholic Church in Katooma Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri district.

The fundraising targeted over Ugx. 30M.

While addressing the congregation, Muhwezi said that since some politicians are bent on winning at all costs, they devise different ways to get attention, including using religions to bring hatred among electorates who have lived in peace with one another for several years.

“Politicians nowadays want to win by all means. They adopted different means, including dividing people through religions. It is now the time for people to lose trust in such politicians because they are enemies of development” Muhwezi said.

Minister Muhwezi added by encouraging people to embrace government programs especially the new one of Parish Development Model and has mindset change to work from subsistence into commercial enterprise.

He however contributed Ugx. 5M towards the fundraising.

During his preaching, the Nyakibale Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Silverio Twinomujuni encouraged Christians to have trust in God and have hopes regardless of their hardships they encounter.

Meanwhile residents within the area raised a concern to the minister over the poor state of Rwendahi-Kigaga road revealing that it needs only 500,000/= for fuel which he immediately gave them such that the road can be worked on.
