Christ Believers Temple on 2nd July 2026 celebrated its 8th anniversary, bringing together Christians at the church premises in Omukatoogo, Nyamayenje, located in the Southern Division of Rukungiri Municipality.
The celebrations commemorated eight years since the ministry began in 2018, with members and well-wishers gathering to give thanks for what they described as God’s grace, growth, and continued breakthroughs during the church’s ministry journey.
Speaking at the ceremony, Evangelist Mugarura Alfred Kaharata, the leader of Christ Believers Temple, expressed heartfelt gratitude to church members and everyone who attended for helping the temple reach the milestone.
Evangelist Mugarura noted that the temple started in 2018 and has since expanded over the years, recording significant achievements across spiritual and community-focused initiatives. He highlighted pastoral work through which, according to the church, believers have experienced miracles, the sick have reportedly been healed, and spiritual breakthroughs have been witnessed.
Among the spiritual breakthroughs cited was an occasion involving prayer for Uganda Cranes, which he said demonstrated the church’s faith and commitment to seeing results through prayer.
The anniversary also featured achievements in sports. Evanglist Mugarura pointed to the Uganda Cranes Under-17 team, noting that the team qualified for the World Cup for the first time, among other sports-related initiatives the church said it has supported.
He further emphasized that the church is ready to continue its projects, including supporting the needy and backing the sports sector, as part of efforts aimed at improving community welfare.
The function also included remarks from Bishop Grace Michael Okello of Revival Mission Churches, who urged Evangelist Mugarura Alfred Kaharata to strengthen his relationship with God.
Bishop Okello said the same God who called Evangelist Mugarura is still present and able to guide the church to complete the good work.He also encouraged all attendees to deepen their relationship with God in order to live better and more fulfilling lives.
In another address, Albert Mugisha Rwamugata, the speaker for Rukungiri District Council, congratulated Christ Believers Temple for sustaining evangelical work for eight years.
Rwamugata encouraged the congregation to trust in God rather than witchcraft, stressing that God can fulfill people’s needs when they place their confidence fully in him. He further advised that stronger participation in church activities increases the likelihood of development, noting that communities often experience slow progress when they waste money, time, and resources.
As the anniversary concluded, members expressed optimism that the next phase of the ministry will bring continued spiritual growth and tangible support for community development in Nyamayenje and beyond.
