The territorial police of Kabale have this morning arrested four suspects who allegedly gang raped a 13 years old girl.
ASP. Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Glorious Akampurira Owembabazi a resident of Kyarugondo village Kasyeregyenyi parish, Kamuganguzi sub county in Kabale district who died moments after the incident.
Maate said that the suspects in custody now are Davis Akankwasa Kehoda, Allan Akanyijuka, Sendarera Moses and, Norman Ahumuza Kanuma all of Kasheregyenyi parish Kamuganguzi sub county.
Maate told journalists that information was received by SP Ruganza Abel, the DPC Kabale from the lc3 chairperson of Kamuganguzi sub county Mr. Twesigomwe Elias that there is unidentified girl who had been raped and was unconscious being taken to Kabale regional referral hospital.
The incident happened yesterday 25th December 2022 at around 8:00pm at Nyakasharara trading center, Kyarugondo village, Kasheregyenyi parish, Kamuganguzi sub county in kabale district.
The DPC and the team went on ground and effected one arrest of Davis.
Then later information from the lc3 chairperson Kamuganguzi sub county, was received that the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Kabale regional referral hospital.
