In a powerful closing address at a three-day conference held at Makerere College of Business and Computer Studies, located in Kagyera ward, Northern division Rukungiri Municipality, Reverend Benson Amanya, the Diocesan Youth and Children Coordinator for North Kigezi Diocese, urged students to prioritize seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness as the foundation for achieving success in their lives.
The conference, themed “Strive for Success,” drew students from various institutions, focusing on personal development and spiritual growth. Citing Isaiah 40:8-11, Reverend Amanya emphasized that true success begins with a deep commitment to faith and moral values. “If you want to succeed in life, you must first seek God’s kingdom,” he stated, encouraging attendees to embrace their spiritual journey as a vital aspect of their futures.
During his address, Reverend Amanya confronted the challenges young people face today, highlighting the dangers of negative habits such as alcoholism, smoking, and pornography. “These behaviors can derail your aspirations and lead to failure,” he warned. He called upon students to resist these temptations and instead focus on building a life grounded in righteousness and purpose. “Put these messages into action for your well-being,” he urged, reinforcing the idea that spiritual health is essential for personal and academic success.
The event also featured remarks from Ainomugisha William, the patron of the Christian Union, who expressed gratitude for the students’ exemplary conduct throughout the conference. “Your discipline during this event has been commendable, and I encourage you to maintain this behavior as you pursue your goals,” William said.
William highlighted the annual nature of the conference, which aims to reconnect students with their faith and strengthen their relationship with God. He noted that as the conference reached its climax, it served as a platform not only for spiritual revival but also for community engagement. “We invite other schools and community members to join us in sharing messages of gratitude for life and development,” he added.
As the conference concluded, attendees left inspired and motivated, equipped with the tools to navigate their futures with faith and purpose. The messages shared by Reverend Amanya and William resonated deeply, providing a guiding light for students to follow as they strive for success in their academic and personal lives.
