The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Right Reverend Onesmus Asiimwe, urged the public to embrace charitable work as a route to community development and a source of God’s blessings during the 25th anniversary thanksgiving of St. Paul’s Community Primary School in Rwakabengo Ward, Southern Division of Rukungiri Municipality.
Bishop Asiimwe, who was the chief guest of honour at the silver jubilee event on 26 February 2026, held up the school’s late founder, Reverend Canon Ephraim Gensi, as a model of compassion and service. He described the late Canon Gensi as empathetic, generous toward needy children, hardworking and intelligent, and called on attendees to emulate his example to leave lasting legacies that will benefit future generations.
“Charitable work transforms communities and attracts God’s favour,” Bishop Asiimwe said, urging parents, leaders and community members to continue supporting institutions that nurture children and uplift society.

Retired Right Reverend Geoffrey Rwobusiisi, who delivered the sermon at the thanksgiving service, thanked the school’s directors and the broader St. Paul’s community for their love and cooperation over the years. He encouraged congregants to make God their primary focus, warning against social vices such as adultery, alcoholism and smoking.
Rwobusiisi said that trusting and obeying God brings purpose and protection, and cited the late Canon Gensi’s obedience as the reason God used him to establish a school that has transformed many lives in the area.
