NEWS– The National Unity Platform’s candidate in the Kisoro Woman MP by-election Sultana Salim has expressed concerns of harassing polling agents.
According to Sultana Salim, her agents are being harassed by the security operatives.
She said this after casting her vote at Kisoro new taxi park polling station at around 12:20 pm.
Sultana revealed that she intends to petition the Electoral Commission, citing that the election process is neither free nor fair.
Kisoro is in the polls today 14th November 2024 and six candidates are vying to replace Sarah Nyirabashitsi Matake who died on 7th September 2024.
The NRM party flag bearer for the Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament by-election, Rose Kabagyeni had also earlier cast her vote at the Gikoro Primary School polling station in Kisoro District.
The presiding officer at the station, Mogad Turikumukiza, reports that voting began at around 8:00 am.
