In a heartwarming ceremony on Sunday, the Christians of Rwanyanja Church of Uganda, led by Bugangari Archdeaconry head of laity Mr. Boaz Kwesiga Rutera, presented a brand new vehicle valued at 44 million Ugandan Shillings to Rev. Richard Kwehangana. This generous gift is aimed at supporting his pastoral work throughout the parish.

The event took place at the Rwanyanja Church, part of the Bugangari Archdeaconry in North Kigezi Diocese. Both Rev. Richard and his wife, Enid, received the vehicle with tears of joy, vowing to use it to spread the gospel, which aligns with their mission and vision for the parish.

In his remarks during the handover, Mr. Rutera emphasized the importance of recognizing Rev. Kwehangana’s contributions over the past two years. He highlighted the priest’s collaboration with parishioners in raising over 189 million Ugandan Shillings to meet the diocesan quota and other development initiatives.

Rutera also noted Rev. Kwehangana’s efforts in promoting coffee growing as per the bishop’s call and fostering fellowship among Christians, which has significantly enhanced the parish’s spiritual growth.

“Rev. Kwehangana’s achievements prompted us to reward him, empowering him to do even more for our parish,” Rutera said, adding that next week, the archdeaconry missioner Rev. Benard Turinawe will also receive a vehicle, with plans for an additional vehicle for Ven. Erasmus Barangirana, the archdeacon of Bugangari.

Rev. Kwehangana and his wife expressed deep gratitude for the gift, pledging to utilize the vehicle to further God’s ministry in Rwanyanja parish.

Mr. Mujere, the head of laity for Rwanyanja parish, urged fellow parishioners to cooperate with their church leaders, emphasizing that unity is essential for achieving development within their churches.

This initiative reflects the strong community spirit and commitment to faith within the Rwanyanja parish, setting a positive example for collaboration and support among church members.
