Rukungiri District Vice Chairperson urges Parents to support Education of their children

RUKUNGIRI- Parents have been asked to embrace government programs through the learning approach of increasing quality education especially for pupils in early childhood development centers and primary schools.

The remarks were made on Friday, November 29th 2024, by the Rukungiri District Vice Chairperson Hon. Santrinah Nahwera during the thanksgiving and first graduation ceremony of Kakamba primary school in Kyeruyenje parish, Buhunga Sub County, Rukungiri District.

Nahwera said under this approach, teachers use materials in society such as skits to demonstrate topics as well as to increase children’s desire to attain education.

The District Vice Chairperson said the government is committed to supporting all schools to implement learning through plays to increase enrollment and retention of children. This is also meant to improve relations between teachers and learners as they interact often.

Rev Fr Posiano Kwitonga of Rutooma parish urged teachers to always treat pupils as their biological sons and daughters so that they maintain good relationship with them, something that will in turn ensure retention.

Mzee Rukarama one of the founders of Kakamba primary school asked parents to own the school and ensure good relationship with the administration

Asiimwe Molly the head teacher of the school, promised residents that with cooperation between the parents and school management, the school will be revamped into a model one in Rukungiri district.

Asiimwe called on parents to take active participation in their children’s learning by providing food for them and scholastic materials.
