KABALE– The Police in Kabale together with locals have searched and retrieved the body of a 23 year old man who allegedly drowned at Lake Bunyonyi.
The victim is Onesmus Twinamatsiko a resident of Katoma cell Mwendo parish Kitumba sub county in Kabale district.
Twinamatsiko drowned on Sunday 5thbSeptember 2021 at around 7Pm as he canoed towards Katoma landing site on his way from Bufuka village across the lake.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Twinamatsiko was alone on his local canoe with no life protective gears.
Maate adds that the search was made and the body has since been recovered and retrieved from the water towards noon on 6th September 2021.
The Police PRO notes that inquiries are ongoing to establish the likely cause of drowning under reference number SD 03/06/09/2021.
