NEWS– It is yet another round of sad news for the parliament of Uganda as another member of the August house is pronounced dead.
The deceased is Margaret Baba Diri, a member of parliament representing Persons with Disabilities.
Margaret Baba Diri was one of the longest serving MPs and has died this afternoon of Thursday 9th January 2025.
She joined Parliament in 1996 as Koboko Woman Member of Parliament.
This follows the death of another Member of Parliament Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya who was representing the people of Kawempe North constituency.
Prior to joining politics, Margaret Baba Diri worked as a teacher at St. Charles Kwanga in Koboko between 1976 and 1990 and also as a gender development officer at National Union of Disabled persons of Uganda between 1992 and 1996.
