Over UGX. 190M raised at Nyarushanje Catholic Parish Fundraising

The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has assured the residents of Rukungiri district that the government is ready to support them in a way to develop them.

Premier Nabbanja made the revelation yesterday 15th October 2022 while officiating at the fundraising of Nyarushanje Catholic Parish, in Nyarushanje Sub County Rukungiri district where she was representing the Vice President Jessica Alupo.

The function was intended to raise money towards the roofing of the newly constructed church that commenced in 2013 and it is estimated to cost 400 million whereas the entire church will cost 2.5 billion shillings.

Speaking during the function, Prime Minister Nabbanja thanked residents of Rukungiri for heartedly supporting the NRM government saying that this will help them to get better service delivery in terms of schools, health facilities, and roads among others.

She urged Ugandans to embrace the new government program of Parish Development Model (PDM) since it is aiming to improve household income to 39% Ugandans who work for subsistence to engage in commercial production.

Nabbanja thanked Local Council one chairpersons for the good work done especially in terms of security calling for the same spirit as the government thinks about them.

The Rubabo County area Member of Parliament Naboth Namanya hails the government of Uganda for supporting people regardless of political affiliations and religions as this promotes development.

Rev. Fr. John Sengiyuva the Nyarushanje catholic Parish priest urged Christians to always support church projects if they want to get blessings from God.

Among the guests who attended the service include the Rukungiri Municipality member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, Hon. Tom Ekudu from Soroti, Hon. Florence Kabugho Woman MP Kasese district, Hon. Mary Pauler Turyahikayo Former MP Rubabo County, among other guests.

Over 190 million shillings was raised during the function.
