NEWS- The opposition has officially announced Lawyer Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola as their official NUP flag bearer for the Kawempe North by-election.
Counsel Elias Luyimbaazi Nalukoola was declared by National Unity Platform Election Management Committee this Tuesday morning 11th February 2025 at the party headquarters in Makerere Kavuule.
After his official announcement, Nalukoola express heartfelt appreciation to the National Unity Platform for placing trust in him to be the flag bearer and the official candidate in the forthcoming Kawempe North By-Election.
Counsel Elias Nalukoola noted that he has been entrusted with a ticket from a formidable political party of ‘our time’.
He added that the departed comrade, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, was overwhelmingly voted in Kawempe North Constituency with over 41,000 votes stressing that this is a trial because, as a unified force, they must ensure that NUP retains this seat.
Nalukoola revealed that while many may see this as an opportunity for him, it is a challenge to some, a challenge to represent and stand with the people of Kawempe North and the majority of Ugandans facing the wrath of Gen. Museveni.
