Joy as Minister Muhwezi reassures residents construction of Rukungiri-Kashenshero-Mitooma road

The Minister of Security who doubles as the area legislator for Rujumbura County Rt. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has warned managers and leaders of SACCO’s against mismanagement of public funds.

Muhwezi said that more members will be attracted and willing to save with public SACCO’s if funds are not mismanaged by leaders and this will bring in more development especially through the new government program of Parish Development Model PDM.

He made the remarks while officiating at the function to raise funds towards the completion of St. Paul’s Church of Uganda Ndere in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri district.

While addressing the congregation, Minister Muhwezi narrated that Rwenshaka SACCO was almost at the verge of collapsing due to poor accountability and the lack of transparency among the leaders.

He added that with more effort, most of Rwenshaka SACCO leaders were arrested and some have so far recovered the lost money giving out a tough warning to leaders from other SACCO not to embezzle public money saying they must be arrested.

Jim Muhwezi revealed that the roads within the district are in poor state but he assured people of Ruhinda and Buhunga that as leaders, they are in touch with their counterparts of Bushenyi, Sheema and Mitooma to tarmac Kabwohe-Kitagata-Kabira-Buhunga to Rukungiri town and Ruhinda-Kashenshero-Mitooma road and soon the road will be worked on and solve all problems.

He however contributed UGX. 10 Million towards the completion of St. Paul’s Church of Uganda Ndere.

While preaching during the service, the caretaker Bishop North Kigezi Diocese Rt. Rev. Patrick Tugume Tusingwire urged Christians to always support the development of God’s Kingdom if they wanted to get blessings from him.

Bishop Tugume said Christians should always thank God for the gift of life and this is done through supporting Church projects and attending church services.

Kansiime Boaz Matinta the St. Paul’s Church of Uganda Ndere head of development and planning who was also the chairperson fundraising Committee thanked the entire Christians of Ndere for the effort rendered towards the successful of the function calling the same spirit in the regular activities towards the development of their church.

Kansiime added by calling upon all people who didn’t show up at the fundraising to continue contributing towards the completion of the church since it still needs big sums of money as it was budgeted for UGX. 200M.

Over UGX. 40M was raised during the function.
