Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council Welcomes New Town Clerk

In a cordial handover ceremony held at the Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council Hall, Mr. Robert Nuwamanya officially took office as the new Town Clerk, succeeding Mr. Mukobi Seleverio Byarufu, who has moved on to serve as Town Clerk at Ntungamo Municipal Council.

The event was attended by key dignitaries, including the Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Mayors from both Bushenyi and Rukungiri Municipal Councils. They gathered to bid farewell to Mr. Byarufu while extending a warm welcome to Mr. Nuwamanya, creating an atmosphere of optimism and collaboration.

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Nuwamanya Robert expressed heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rukungiri Municipal Council, where he previously served. He acknowledged the warm reception from the leadership and staff of Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council.

“I’m humbled by the hospitality and look forward to serving the people of Ishaka Bushenyi with dedication and openness,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, remarking that progress can only be achieved through unity and collaboration, just as it was in his previous role.

Mr. Nuwamanya also pledged to build upon the strong foundation set by his predecessor, highlighting continuity and innovation as key elements in municipal management. He aims to enhance service delivery while ensuring that the council remains responsive to the needs of the community.

Mr. Mukobi Seleverio Byarufu the outgoing Town Clerk praised the professionalism and dedication of the staff and leadership during his tenure. He noted that Mr. Nuwamanya is stepping into a well-organized institution, with efficient systems in place and a strong focus on local revenue collection.

“This Council has changed my life,” he remarked emotionally, assuring attendees of a stable environment for his successor.

His Worship the Mayor of Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council, Mr. Byaruhanga Richard, officially welcomed Mr. Nuwamanya, urging him to prioritize service delivery and integrity stressing that he should work with commitment and let salary be secondary. 

Mr Byaruhanga added that Mr Nuwamanya will have their political support, and their door remains open for guidance and partnership to him.
