Aspiring Member of Parliament Hon Alban Rukundo has made a commitment to develop the Rubabo constituency, encouraging voters to support him in the upcoming 2026 general elections. Speaking to our reporter, Rukundo announced his candidacy under the newly formed political party, the Peoples’ Front For Freedom (PFF).

Rukundo emphasized the agricultural nature of Rubabo, home to many farmers and pastoralists. He plans to introduce workshops aimed at providing farmers with guidance on best practices for farm management.

“I aim to leverage my connections with higher institutions in Uganda to secure sponsorships that will enhance educational opportunities for the people of Rubabo,” he stated. Rukundo assured constituents that he intends to serve all individuals, regardless of their political affiliations.

Rukundo highlighted the poor conditions of critical infrastructure, such as the Minera Bridge, which connects various sub counties. He pledged to work with the government to improve roads, water supply, and electricity access for the residents of Rubabo.

In addition, he plans to initiate projects focused on youth development, emphasizing sports like football and athletics to help cultivate local talent.

“I will regularly engage with my constituents to discuss their challenges and bring their concerns to Parliament,” he promised.

Local residents have expressed their support for Rukundo. Akatukunda Talent, Ainembabazi Fortunate, and Isaac Tusiime described him as a leader dedicated to youth programs and community development. They called on the public to rally behind Hon Alban to enhance service delivery in Rubabo.

As the 2026 elections approach, Rukundo’s vision for Rubaabo reflects a commitment to comprehensive development and community engagement.
