Residents of Kyemengo in Mitooma Town Council have expressed their joy over the government’s decision to construct a crucial road, which has been a major hindrance to transportation in their area.
In an interview with our reporter, locals such as Suraji Bangizi, Ashaaba Gepson, and Mubangizi Jumah shared their excitement about the new developments. They noted that the Kyemengo to Mitooma road has significantly affected transport, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through.
The residents praised Mitooma Town Council Mayor, Mr. Tusingwiire Albert Kakwenzire, for his substantial efforts in advocating for the road’s construction. Many community members highlighted the challenges they faced, including carrying patients on their backs due to the poor road conditions. In gratitude, they pledged to support the government in the upcoming elections for the positive changes it has brought to their community.
Additionally, residents acknowledged other government initiatives that have improved their district, such as the establishment of Mitooma High Court, Mitooma Health Center IV, and the provision of electricity to many areas within the town council.
Mayor Tusingwiire Albert Kakwenzire addressed the community, recalling how patients were often carried on backs due to the lack of clear roads. He thanked the residents for their patience during the road’s poor conditions and promised to continue implementing positive changes, contingent on receiving another term in office during the upcoming general elections.
He encouraged the community to utilize the new road for transporting goods, emphasizing its potential to boost their income. The mayor also expressed gratitude to the government for addressing the road issue, which had long been a significant challenge for the residents.
