Rukungiri’s Kiyaga Primary School honors hardworking teachers

Kiyaga Primary School on Thursday honored its hardworking teachers with a special celebration where the guest of honor was Mr. Agume Robert, the Rukungiri Municipality’s Municipal Education Officer.

With more than 550 pupils enrolled, the school is situated in Kiyaga Ward, Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality.

During his speech, the Municipal Education Officer, Mr. Agume Robert, conveyed his sincere appreciation to the teachers for their commitment and professionalism.

He emphasized that it is uncommon for teachers to be recognized by their schools commending administration and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for taking the initiative to plan such an important event.

He encouraged teachers to keep up their admirable work by advising them to be watchful, prioritize God, and follow the law.

Kyokusiima Patience, the Head Teacher of Kiyaga Primary School, expressed gratitude to Mr. Agume for coming and emphasized the unwavering dedication of her staff, stating that they are dedicated to excellence.

In his speech, PTA Chairperson Mr. Karyagire George emphasized the value of this yearly gathering for exchanging ideas and fostering school growth.

However, George also highlighted persistent issues, such as the pressing need for additional seats and latrines to handle the growing number of pupils.
