The Minister for Security and Rujumbura County Member of Parliament Rtd. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has issued a warning to groups of people whom he said are fond of attacking and intimidating NRM supporters to stop it or they risk facing consequences.

Minister Muhwezi said this yesterday while meeting residents of Kakoni, Nyabubare all in Bwambara Sub County and Bikurungu town council ahead of National Resistance Movement (NRM) elections.

Muhwezi said that such groups should sweet talk people so that they can start supporting them, but intimidating voters is not allowed.

He used his own experience as the Minister of Security, who is unable to intimidate others, but expressed curiosity about how some groups, particularly in Bwambara Sub County Rukungiri district, do this to their supporters, threatening to take action if they are discovered.

Jim Muhwezi sweet-talked people of Bikurungu Town Council and Bwambara Sub County to avoid vote-buying politicians but rather support those who will provide effective service delivery to them.

He also rallied the people of Rujumbura and Rukungiri district at large to continue supporting the NRM because it has been tried and tested and thus cannot betray Ugandans.

He urged the residents of Rujumbura County to support him in the forthcoming elections because he has a capacity of lobbying services and development from the central government to communities.

The NRM stalwart cautioned the people against being derailed by those in the opposition who he said have no will and capacity to render services to the people.
