The Police in Kigezi Region’s Rukiga district have in detention ruthless suspects involved in the alleged murder of a 62 year old resident.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesman identified the suspect as Bagambira Milton alias Obote, resident of Nyakisa cell Kashekye parish Kamwezi sub county, Rukiga District..
The incident according to Maate occurred on 20th May 2025 at around 9:30Am at Rwenzaza cell Kashekye parish, Kamwezi Sub County in Rukiga District and was on 21st May reported to the Police by Twakire Ronald, a peasant resident of Nyakisa cell, Kashekye parish ,Kamwezi sub county Rukiga District.
It alleged that on the fateful day at around 7Am, as the deceased had gone to his banana plantation found in Rwenzaza cell to work, he found when Kiromba James and Beinomugisha Denis alias Murefu (now the suspects) were stealing coffee from his coffee Plantation.
When the duo saw him, they attacked him with sharp objects and severely cut him on the head several time. That they also cut off his both legs and arms as well as removing his both eyes.
The duo is then alleged to have ferried the body parts across the border of Rwanda and buried them in the sack.
The police were informed; crime scene was visited by a team of police officers, statements were recorded from witnesses and the body examined.
Postmortem was done and the body was handed over to relatives for a decent burial according to Maate, stressing that upon completion of inquiries, the suspects will be produced before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
