CP Fred Enanga identified the deceased as Juliet Nassali 40 who has been a woman friend to the suspect who was identified as Jona Beambale alias Master.

Enanga said that Master in conspiracy with his three brothers murdered Nassali whom he accused of allegedly infecting him with HIV.

It is alleged that the suspect was recently depressed and extremely frustrated after learning that he had HIV/AIDS which he blamed on his long time woman friend Nassali.

The facts gathered by Police so far indicate that on the victim together with the suspect and others were on 18th September 2021 seen while drinking at a local village bar in Mende Central village, Mende sub-county in Wakiso district before they left together for a yet to be known destination.

Unfortunately, the victim was on 19th September 2021 found murdered with multiple bruises all over body, a deep depression on the right forehead and the body abandoned a distance of 150 metres from her house.

According to Police, there was no evidence of sexual violence on the body of the deceased.

Enanga stressed that the police sniffer dog led a team of detectives to the house of Bwambale Jona alias master where he was arrested with two of his brothers Ntale Ronald and Kule Jona and the fourth suspect was identified as Kakooza Jamil.

Fred Enanga revealed that upon search at the suspect’s home, suspected blood stained clothes were recovered in addition to a pair of black open sandals which were recovered from the scene.

The police spokesperson strongly condemned what he called sexually motivated crimes stressing that they are uncalled for as there is no proof on the timing of the infection and any further linkage to the victim.

“As a country, we are a lead model in the fight and awareness of HIV/AIDS, its safeguards and on positive living”, Enanga added.

Enanga said that where someone gets infected, they should know that HIV is not a death sentence or ticket because one can continue living positively and stay healthy for a lifetime stressing that such incidents therefore call for more and better counselling drives in the community.
