NEWS– 304 Kiswahili students have graduated in a lavish event held at Kyambogo university grounds.

The students graduated after completing a one year course at the NRM Secretariat.

President Museveni who officiated the function encouraged East Africans and the broader African continent to use their similarities to promote Swahili as a vital tool for economic integration and unity.

He congratulated the graduates upon completing the course which he said is essential for facilitating communication within the East African nations.

According to President Museveni, Kiswahili is a neutral, non-ethnic, and unifying language that originated on the coast of East Africa as a tool for business and belongs to no single tribe.

“I would like to thank those who initiated this idea: the NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong and Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, for their advocacy in this matter. We are definitely going to advance the programme further”, he added.
