Students rallied to embrace sports as Kashenyi SS holds Sports day

Students have been asked to observe discipline if they want to be recognised with their deeds

The remarks were sounded yesterday  by Ziine Narcisius the senior retired  educationist while addressing students of Kashenyi Secondary School  during the School’s sports day held at the school playground in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District.

Ziine urged students to adhere to rules and regulations that will inspire them to admire sports activities that have currently become a source of income especially among the youths.

Davis Mutabanura, the Chairperson Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA) meeting hailed Students and administration of Kashenyi Secondary School for shining in Sports at National Level and urged the people present to support sports as an entertainment and boredom breaker for lifespan expansion.

Canon Twinomujuni Wycliffe Makky, the head teacher Kashenyi Secondary School challenged students to aim higher, emphasizing that such a sports day is to equip students with knowledge, Skills and techniques for talent development.

Twinomujuni challenged parents against babysitting their children but to rather encourage them discover their talents at a tender stage that will make them develop their skills.

He recognized the former students of Kashenyi Secondary School who are reaping much in sports in Qatar and Netherlands hence imploring the current ones to admire sports activities for fitness and livelihood, health and wealth.

The day’s inter-classes competition Senior Four becoming an overall winner with 363 points, followed by senior one with 270, senior Six emerged third with 223, Senior Five fourth with 188, senior three fifth with 123 and Senior two trailed with 92 points.

Scholastic materials such as Counter books, Mathematical sets and Pens were given to the best Participants as motivation to keep the push on for betterment in sports.
