In a heartfelt address during the St. Paul’s Day celebration at St. Paul’s Vocational School, Rev. Fr. Dr. Julius Turyatoranwa emphasized the importance of the three pillars of PHD—Prayer, Hard Work, and Discipline—as essential components for students aspiring to achieve success in their future endeavors.

The parish priest of Christ the King Church in Rukungiri and dean of Nyakibale Deanery made these remarks during the mass held on Saturday at the school in Buyanja Town Council.

The event marked the annual celebration of St. Paul, the school’s patron saint, bringing together students, parents, and community members. Fr. Turyatoranwa encouraged the congregation to look up to the examples set by St. Paul urging them to be faithful to God and actively participate in spreading His word.

During the Annual General Meeting that preceded the mass, Tuhaisomujuni Patrick, the headteacher of St. Paul’s Buyanja, acknowledged the overwhelming turnout of parents and highlighted the school’s current enrollment of 1,020 students. He shared several achievements of the school, including academic excellence, sports, and health programs.

However, he also addressed some challenges, such as limited land for expansion and the ongoing strike of nine arts teachers, which has affected the school’s teaching schedule.

Tuhaisomujuni expressed hope that these issues would soon be resolved for the betterment of the school.

Francis Rurema, the Chairperson of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), expressed his joy at the strong community support for St. Paul’s School.

He thanked the administration and students for their collaboration with parents, which he believes is crucial for the school’s continued development and success.
