NEWS– Western Uganda’s newly created Rwampara district recorded the highest number of cases in the country.
This is according to the recently released 2024 Uganda Police annual crime report.
According to the police report, out of the 185 Police Divisions/Central Police Stations in Uganda, Rwampara registered the highest number of cases with 3,877 cases followed by Old Kampala Police Division with 3,604 cases.
Katwe Police Division came third with 3,584 cases, Luwero Police Station with 3,374 cases and Kawempe Police Division with 3,362 cases followed respectively.
However, Uganda Police force reported a significant decline in crime rates with a 4.1% decrease in reported cases from 2023 to 2024.
According to the annual crime report 2024, the number of reported cases dropped from 228,074 in 2023 to 218,715 in 2024.
