Rukungiri parish chiefs and town agents unite to curb their challenges

The Rukungiri district Parish Chiefs and Principle town agents yesterday Thursday 26th January 2023 officially launched their startup Development Association which will bring them together, defend and strengthen themselves.

Speaking during the official launch which held at Okapi Hotel in western division Rukungiri municipality, Tindiwensi Boaz the chairperson of the Association disclosed that their intention of coming up with such association is to speak with one voice and use a common strategy in addressing their challenges to the district and entire government officials at large.

Tindiwensi added that the association is also aiming at uniting themselves and standing with one another especially during hard times.

The chairperson who is also the Parish Chief for Kigaga in Nyakagyeme Sub County listed out challenges they face including lack of transport means while implementing government programs especially Parish Development Model calling out the government to intervene and make their work easier.

During the launch, Denis the Rukungiri Deputy Chief Administrative Officer urged the parish Chiefs and Principle town clerks to cooperate since they have created an association as this will help them to raise their concerns like promotions and other challenges they encounter while on duty.

Denis added that leaders of the association should advise their members to do the rightful things in a bid to avoid tarnishing their image in public and the government.

Rukungiri district has 75 parish Chiefs and 21town agents.
