Police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances that led to the assault of a 24yrs old female journalist at Kanungu Fm Radio station in Kanungu district.
The victim is one Tumuramye Anita an employee at Kanungu Fm Radio station while the suspect is Twinamatsiko Nelson 51yrs the manager at the same radio station resident of Katate cell western ward Kanungu town council .
Elly Maate kigezi Region police spokesperson says It’s alleged that on 26/01/2023 at around 06 00pm at the Kanungu Fm Radio station, Anita was assaulted by the manager when she had gone to demand for her 40,000/= commission from him
Maate says Tumuramye Anita reported to have been assaulted by one Twinamatsiko Nelson 51yrs the manager at the same radio station and resident of the same above address.
police say after reporting ,statements were recorded from complainant and witness, scene of crime was visited and documented, investigations were carried out and suspect was summoned, he appeared today morning (01/02/2023), his statement recorded and was detained pending court.
Maate said that a Case file was completed and forwarded to RSA with charge sheet for further management.
