A segment of residents in Mutara Town Council voiced their support today for the incumbent Member of Parliament for Ruhinda South, Hon. Dononzio Mugaabe Kahonda, highlighting his dedication to development in the region.
In interviews with our news reporter, residents expressed gratitude for Kahonda’s commitment to inclusivity, stating he has served all constituents without bias towards clans, tribes, or religions.
Local residents, including Atukwase Lovance Kisho, Akankwasa Robinah, and Sharon Bariyo, commended Hon. Kahonda for his recent initiatives. They specifically praised him for Renovating the Kichwamba Bridge, crucial for local transport, Providing iron sheets for the Mutara Town Church, Expanding piped water access throughout the town council, while requesting additional taps for households.
The residents also highlighted Kahonda’s efforts in healthcare, noting the introduction of a county ambulance that transports patients to hospitals free of charge. They expressed their appreciation for the bursaries he secured for children, enabling many to pursue free education and acquire new skills. Furthermore, the electrification of rural areas facilitated the establishment of local businesses, such as welding and dairy farming.
Despite his track record, residents urged Kahonda to address ongoing issues, including, Increasing electricity access in underserved areas, Improving water availability in all households to reduce reliance on distant rivers, Ensuring the completion of the Kabwohe-Mutara-Kabiira-Rukungiri road project to improve transportation.
As the election approaches, the community is rallying for Kahonda’s re-election, requesting all constituents of Ruhinda South to support him for a third term. They believe his continued leadership will ensure the fulfillment of his promises and foster further development in both Ruhinda South and Mitooma District.
