President Museveni lectures Army Commanders on urgent need for Political Federation

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has lectured East Africa military commanders on the urgent need for political federation of Africa as strategic redress to existing bottlenecks to the continent’s development in his key note address to the 20th intake of the senior command and staff college Kimaka in Jinja district.

The 20th intake 2024/25 of the senior command and staff college Kimaka in Jinja enrolled 52 students including eleven from East Africa Member states two from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, One from Malawi and 41 from the Uganda People’s Defense Forces – UPDF.

Museveni used the same occasion to charge military commanders in Africa with the responsibility of analyzing the continent’s competitive advantage, develop synergies for unity and harnessing of the continent’s natural endowments.

The 52 students’ cohort has trained in national and international military affairs including policy and Strategy in their preparation for command and Staff Responsibilities at the middle level of the regional militaries.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has hinted on the ongoing youths’ demonstrations in the Republic of Kenya which he blamed on failure of parties involved to identify the real factors leading to Youth unemployment and other issues raised by rioters.

President Museveni underscores the need for actors in that demonstration to know the five strategic priority areas they need to focus on that include Peace and Stability, Development, Wealth and Jobs Creation and manufacturing as he explains.
