Police brutally arrest NUP supporters in Kibuku

NEWS-The police in Kibuku district are holding five National Unity Platform supporters.

According to the National Unity Platform top leaders, their comrades were on Monday 6th January 2025 descended upon by police as they were conducting party activities and brutally assaulted them.

It is said that the police thereafter arrested and detained them at Kibuku Police Station where they remain to date. 

The victims have been identified as Lubega Meddie, Oduchu Peter, Namoni Andrew (NUP Chairperson Budaka District), Kakaire Muhammad, and Gawaya Robert the Bukedi subregion NUP coordinator. 

“We strongly condemn this impunity and demand that our comrades be immediately and unconditionally freed”, National Unity Platform took to their official party social media handles.
