Robert Agume the Rukungiri Municipal Education Officer has emphasized the importance of allowing children to express their talents. This Agume said yesterday during school open day at Kinyasano Boarding Primary School, in Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Speaking as the chief guest, he noted that fostering these abilities can lead to a brighter future for students.

The event showcased various talents, with children participating in activities such as wrestling, skits, and singing. Agume highlighted a concerning trend where many parents are hesitant to let their children engage in sports like football and volleyball.

He pointed out that these activities not only develop skills but can also lead to bursaries and job opportunities.

“I urge parents to support their children’s talents,” he said. “These experiences can be crucial for their future success.” He extended his gratitude to Mr. Benard Tumushangye, the school’s headteacher, for organizing the event.
