NEWS-One of the Kampala city streets is to be named after a fallen business tycoon Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige commonly known to many as BMK.
This was on Sunday 12th September 2021 revealed by Anita Among the Deputy speaker of the 11th parliament while attending the final send off ceremony of the fallen tycoon that took place at his ancestral home in Nkoowe Village, in Busiro county in Wakiso district.
Among pledged to oversee a motion in the Parliament that will see one of the streets in Kampala named after BMK.
A renown businessman and the owner of Hotel Africana lost the battle to cancer last week in Nairobi.
Among described BMK as a great businessman and a person that will always be remembered for his contribution towards the development of this country.
Other dignitaries who were present at the burial included Gen Katumba Wamala, the Minister for Works and Transport who represented President Museveni and Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga who represented Buganda Kingdom, NRM first national vice chairperson Al Haji Moses Kigongo, several members of parliament and Hotel Owners among many others.
