Aspiring Member of Parliament for Rubabo County, Hon Alban Rukundo, has called on residents to remain vigilant as the vetting process for the PFF party approaches, scheduled for Monday.

In a message conveyed through our news reporter, Rukundo emphasized that the party’s constitution allows all members to be vetted without holding primary elections. The vetting will take place on Monday afternoon at the PFF Headquarters in Katonga, led by the party’s Electoral Commission chairperson, Hon Micheal Kabaziguruka.

Rukundo urged his supporters to pray for his success in securing the party flag, expressing his belief in the power of prayer and God’s omnipresence.

“I know that based on my name, Rukundo, people love me, and I possess all the necessary qualifications. Nothing can stop me from holding the flag,” he stated.

Following the vetting, Rukundo promised to engage with grassroots communities to seek mandates from the people of Rubaabo, alongside other party flag bearers. He also expressed his intention to mobilize support for Dr. Kizza Besigye, who is currently detained and denied court bail.

Rukundo highlighted the importance of fair vetting practices, urging those in charge to assess candidates based on their ability to bring development and uphold the party’s constitution, rather than on religious or tribal affiliations.

He is set to compete against the incumbent MP, Hon Naboth Namanya, to determine who will hold the party flag and face candidates from other political parties in the upcoming elections.

“We need to ensure that the vetting process is transparent and just, focusing on the qualities that will benefit our community.”

“My commitment is to advocate for the rights and freedoms of all citizens, starting with Dr. Kizza Besigye.”

As the vetting day approaches, the community remains abuzz with anticipation for the upcoming political developments in Rubaabo County.
