Members of God’s Embassy Church have gathered to commence a transformative 40-day fasting and prayer period, starting February 2 and concluding March 19, 2026. This initiative, spearheaded by Bishop Onesmus Byengoma Ngoboka, aims to empower believers to deepen their relationship with God amid prayers for wisdom, knowledge, and divine provision for the year ahead.

Bishop Ngoboka, who also serves as the pastor for God’s Embassy Church and is the head of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches in the Kigezi Subregion, emphasized the significance of this fasting period during a gathering at the church. He articulated that the primary goal is to strengthen spiritual bonds, encourage heartfelt repentance, and seek God’s protection and blessings, making 2026 a year of unprecedented prosperity for the church community.

“This fasting and prayer period is an opportunity for transformation,” Bishop Ngoboka stated. “We believe in the power of prayer, which can bring about miracles in our lives. It is a time for serious reflection and spiritual rejuvenation.”

The bishop noted that while the fasting program is extensive, special considerations have been made for vulnerable groups within the congregation. Children, pregnant mothers, and the sick will not participate in the fasting aspect; however, they will be encouraged to engage in prayer activities. Participants will consume simple breakfasts and evening meals throughout the duration of the fast and are advised to stay hydrated.

Bishop Ngoboka also addressed the need for ongoing spiritual education among pastors, underscoring the importance of regular Bible study to equip them with deeper understanding and insight into God’s word. He believes that empowered pastors will be better able to preach the genuine teachings of Christianity.

The church remains committed to its mission of influencing the community positively through faith-based programs. Regular involvement in Uganda’s Bible Study sessions, held in Kigina cell in Southern Division Rukungiri Municipality, serves as a vital resource for pastors seeking enhanced knowledge of scripture and effective methods to share the Gospel with congregants.
