In anticipation of President Museveni’s campaign in Rukungiri, NRM leaders today Sunday gathered for a key preparatory meeting at Rukungiri district headquarters in Council hall.
The meeting brought together NRM district chairperson Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi and his committee, RDC Bron. Kikanshemeza, DISO, NRM Parliamentary flag bearers, Sub County NRM chairpersons and other stakeholders.
Presiding over the meeting, Hon. Jim Muhwezi commended the leaders for turning up in large numbers on short notice and for their commitment to national development.
Speaking passionately about political commitment, Jim Muhwezi urged leaders and ardent supporters of the party to rally the populace to show President Museveni their affection on November 26, 2026.

After the meeting, vice chairperson NRM Rukungiri district Mr. Ambroz Kibuuka and the area party administrator received materials from the secretariat including President Museveni’s portraits which will be used to mobilize the general public ahead of President Museveni’s campaign rally.

The preparatory meeting set a strong tone for the president’s campaign in Rukungiri reaffirming the district’s readiness to welcome the NRM Presidential candidate in the area.
