A 17-year-old housemaid has been found dead, hanging from a mango tree in Nyamitooma 1 Cell, Nyamitooma Ward, Binkurungu Town Council, Rukungiri District. The shocking incident occurred on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
According to Binkurungu Town Council Mayor Warren Kajuna, the deceased, whose identity has not been released, had been employed by the family of Sad Sanyu. Allegedly, the girl had gone missing on Thursday, August 7, just three days before her body was discovered.
Mayor Kajuna noted that the young woman was not a local resident; she hailed from Karuga-Kayonzya in Kanungu District. He mentioned that she had been working in the household for approximately two weeks.
As of now, the police have not issued an official statement regarding the incident. The community is left in shock and mourning as they await further details.
