Passengers from Kampala to Rukungiri and Kanungu districts respectively on Sunday narrowly escaped death after a bus they were traveling in got involved in an accident.Witnesses and some of the passengers on a Perfect Bus registration number UBG 255N told our reporter that the bus veered off the road at Rutunguru trading center, along the Ntungamo Rukungiri road in Ntungamo district.
Initial reports indicate that the bus driver was trying to escape potholes visibly seen on this road and ended in a trench.
It’s reported that no serious injuries were registered in this Sunday morning accident.
Passengers in one of the video clips making rounds on social media are heard thanking God for their service, others trying to help fellows out of the bus through the windows.
By press time, the Rwizi Region police were yet to issue a statement regarding this accident. We shall however keep you posted with details.
