Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, the Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality and a contestant for the NRM flag bearer, has called on the residents of Kitimba Ward to support the ongoing development initiatives in their area.
During his second campaign rally held yesterday, Dr. Rutahigwa expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he has received from the Kitimba community. He emphasized that their support is crucial for enhancing service delivery, which includes improving the road network, healthcare facilities, electricity access, and water supply.
“I have always strived to address key service issues in our municipality,” Dr. Rutahigwa stated. “With your mandates, I can work collaboratively with everyone to foster development.”
He cautioned residents against being swayed by monetary incentives from individuals lacking accountability, warning that such practices could hinder future service delivery and lead to misunderstandings within the community.
Mark Surait, the area councilor, expressed his appreciation for Dr. Rutahigwa’s visit, reiterating the community’s readiness to vote for a leader committed to service delivery.
Surait highlighted the improvements made under Dr. Rutahigwa’s leadership, including better roads, upgraded health facilities like Maya Health Center II, and support for local schools and churches.
“As natives, we must vote for leaders who prioritize service delivery over financial incentives,” Surait urged.
Nsiima Moreen Magara, Chairperson of Lc1 for Maaya Cell, echoed these sentiments, thanking the community for their support of Dr. Rutahigwa. She noted that he has consistently delivered on his promises and is seen as a reliable solution for the community’s needs.
“Honorable Rutahigwa is our solution,” she affirmed. “He always fulfills his commitments and works tirelessly to bring services to the people.”
The call for unity and informed voting is essential as the community approaches the upcoming elections, with leaders urging residents to prioritize accountability and service over monetary gains.
