Security Minister and the Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has advised opposition supporters to join the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), if they’re to realize and appreciate its development strategies.
Minister Jim Muhwezi made the remarks yesterday while addressing residents of Kikongi Parish as he wrapped up his tour to Bwambara Sub County ahead of National Resistance Movement (NRM) elections set for 16th this month.
Muhwezi revealed that the country has seen significant improvement under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM government, appealing to people to rally behind him and consolidate his achievements. He also urged the people of Bwambara Sub County to embrace politics of interest and shun politics of identity that frustrates development of their area.

Chris Kagayano, the Bwambara Sub County chairperson affirmed that due to Jim Muhwezi’s outstanding service delivery efforts in their area, his people from all parishes are determined to overwhelmingly support him to retain the seat.

Kamugisha Clement, an elder from Kikongi Parish remarked that residents of other Sub Counties in Rujumbura should ignore reports that Jim Muhwezi has no support in Bwambara, citing the overwhelming support he received as evidence.

Hon. Jim Muhwezi proceeded to Bugangari Sub County after Bwambara, visiting the communities of Burama, Kyomera, Kakindo, Kayanja, Kakirago, and Kagashe.
He was accompanied by Byamukama Jaston, the area chairperson LC 3, and other Sub County officials.
