NEWS– The territorial police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 38 year old man Denis Muhwezi, which allegedly occurred on Sunday night at Omukatojo cell, Rubanga parish, Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri District, by unknown people.
According to ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesman, it’s alleged that on the fateful day at around 10Am, the deceased left home going to Nyabushenyi village in Nyarushanje Sub County for burial together with other family members.
On the same date at around 5Pm, he was seen at Minera Hot Springs by his young brother Tumuramye John. Tumuramye left him at Minera Hot Springs at around 6Pm.
Maate adds that, on Monday at around 6:34Am, Arinaitwe Ambrose resident of Omukatojo cell, who was taking children to school found the body of the deceased lying in a pool of blood along Rubanga Minera road.
Arinaitwe Ambrose alerted relatives of the deceased including, who reported to Rukungiri CPS. The scene of crime was visited, processed and documented, statements were recorded from witnesses and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo HC III mortuary for postmortem examination.
One suspect Turyatunga Victor was arrested to assist in investigations as inquiries are at hand.
