Girma Wake and President Museveni

A section of members of parliament have expressed dissatisfaction on the procedures used by president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to appoint Girma Wake as the new acting chief executive officer of Uganda airlines.

Speaking to media at parliament, Kira municipality Mp Ibrahim Ssemujju Ngaanda noted that hiring new CEO from Ethiopia won’t save the airline unless the government understands why they are reviving the airline.

Ssemujju noted that Girma has been working with Ethiopian airlines where by the workers in the airline don’t work for the salary but they work for the country and it is the reason why it is the only profit working airline in Africa.

He added that in the middle east the countries started their airlines to promote tourism in their country by transporting in people who want to visit their countries and they make profits in tourism but not in the airlines.
