KAMPALA– The Ministry of health in Uganda has registered 1,372 new Covid 19 recoveries rising the country’s cumulative cases to 75,790.
The Ministry also confirmed new 375 COVID-19 cases from 3,715 samples tested on 23 July 2021 which represents 10.1% positivity rate.
According to the statistics from the Ministry, the new confirmed cases rose the cumulative confirmed cases in the country to 92,490 from 1,449,128 sample tests done since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The ministrial statistics also confirmed 31 Ugandans who have succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours bringing the country’s cumulative deaths to 2,557.
A total of 1,110,867 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Ugandans to protect them from the virus while 754 are still admitted in different health facilities battling the virus.
The new cases include 144 from Kampala, Kagadi 16, Nakasongola 14, Wakiso 13, Nabitaluk and Mbale 12 cases each, Mukono 10, Tororo and Kyotera 9 cases each, Sembabule 8, Obongi, Mbarara and Kasese 7 cases each,Kibuku 6, Bukomansimbi, Sironko, Kalungu, Butambala, Rakai and Buyende 5 cases each.
Gulu, Busia, Kapchorwa, Oyam, Bududa each with 4 cases, Hoima, Nakaseke, Nakapiripirit, Kotido, Adjumani and Luwero 3 cases each, Yume, Buikwe, Terego, Mpigi, Arua, Mubende, Isingiro, Masaka, Namayingo, Napak 2 cases each, Kanungu, Soroti, Iganga, Kiboga, Pallisa, Lwengo, Kabale, Kalaki and Kyegegwa with a single case.
A total of 3 positive truck drivers were also confirmed by the Ministry with 2 from Mutukula border point of entry and 1 from Kampala.
