Youths urged to meaningfully utilise holidays as Kashenyi Archdeaconry youths conference commences

NEWS- Venerable Edison Muhirwe the archdeacon of Kashenyi Archdeaconry has asked the youth to utilize their holidays meaningfully and also respect their parents.

He made the remarks during the 5th Annual Youths conference at Kashenyi Archdeaconry for parishes under Kashenyi archdeaconry in Ruhinda sub county Rukungiri district.

 While Opening this 3-day convention themed Romans 12:1-12 “conforming to the word not the patterns of the World but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”, Ven Muhirwe cautioned the youths against worldly pleasures including alcoholism and sexual promiscuity, smoking among others that would ruin their future. He also appealed to teenagers to be open minded as they wade through the competitive world.

Ordinard Turyahabwe Nicholas Nebirungi, the Kashenyi archdeaconry Youth coordinator said similar conferences started in the archdeaconry in 2021 aimed at grooming the youths to strengthen the church not only in Kashenyi archdeaconry and North Kigezi diocese, but the Country at large.

Nebirungi added that during school holidays, they normally organize workshops on creative talks and counseling, games and sports as well as talent shows.

Nuwamanya Davis, an attendant of the conference said this will empower him to build a strong foundation for the family and church that will continue to spreading evangelism.
