Uganda cranes qualify for AFCON 2025 with two games to play

NEWS– The Uganda men’s National team ‘the Uganda cranes’ has qualified for the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament (AFCON 2025).

This comes after the South Sudan National team defeated Congo in a five goal thriller that ended 3:2.

South Sudan’s narrow win over Congo means Uganda cranes is through to the AFCON 2025 even before playing tomorrow’s game against South Africa.

The Uganda cranes will on Friday 15th November 2024 host the South African national team commonly known as Bafana Bafana at Mandela Stadium Namboole.

As it stands, Uganda leads group K with 10 points, South African comes second with 8 points both having played four games.

Congo stands in the third position with 4 points and South Sudan comes last with only 3 points both in 5 games.

The 2025 AFCON will be held in Morocco.

This means Uganda has in the last three decades qualified for the AFCON only three times that is 2017, 2019 and now 2025.
