Two Kiruhura business men held over suspected theft of cattle

Police in Kiruhura District is holding two suspects for allegedly stealing cattle.

The two have been identified as Bwambale Felix 32years old , a business man resident of Rushere hospital zone, Rushere Town Council, Kiruhura District and Kwijuka Isma 40 years old, business man a resident of Central Zone, Rushere Town Council, Kiruhura District .

According to Rwizi region police spokesperson SP Samson Kasasira, the two were intercepted on the Saturday 07/10/2023 at about 01;30pm traveling in motor vehicle registration number UAK 028T at Kyanyeba- Rushere, Rushere Town Council in transit and upon search they were found in possession of offals, skins and hides , cut off heads of cattle  and meat hence apprehending them and are currently held at CPS Kiruhura District 

Kasasira says the motor vehicle registration number UAK 028T was impounded, searched and exhibits recovered are six cut off heads of cows, ten hides of cows, three for goats, ovals of six cows, 24 hooves of cattle.

The  Veterinary officer was brought on board and his preliminary report retrieved on the disposal of the same.

On interrogation of the suspects they revealed others who are still at large and are being tracked to be arrested and prosecuted.

 Police say Inquires are still ongoing into the matter.
