The facts behind the deaths of two family members in a fatal collision involving a Sino truck and motorcycle at kijongo cell in Buhara Sub County are being looked into by police in Kabale District.
Amumpire Fauster, 30, a resident of Maziba village Buhara sub county Kabale district, and her 1-year-old son Ayebare Grigory were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson.
Denis, the Boda Boda rider, was critically hurt.
According to reports, a motor vehicle with the registration number UBK710L sino truck in red, driven by an unidentified driver who escaped, and a motorcycle with the registration number UDF571Q B/B in red, driven by Denis, a 40-year-old resident of Buhara village in the Kabale district who was admitted to Buhara Health Center III, were both involved in the collision.
On 12th June 2023, at approximately 5:00 pm, in the Kijonjo village, Buhara sub county, Kabale district, the incident took place.
Maate told the media that the remains of the deceased had been collected and transferred to the morgue of the Kabale referral hospital for postmortem, and that the motorcycle and car were both kept in the Kabale CPS yard pending IOV inspection.
He further disclosed that because of the unidentified accident and continuing investigations, ASP Baguma and his group had visited Scene.
According to Maate, the fatal accident case file was recorded at Kabale CPS with reference number TAR 66/2023.
