The advice was given wednesday by the Archdeacon of Kyabugashe Archdeaconry, Ven. Amos Katushabe, during the dedication day for S.4 and S.6 students of Kyabugashe High School in Nyakagyeme Subcounty, Rukungiri District.

He noted that fear and cowardice can lead to health problems, especially diseases affecting the heart. He added that all fear comes from Satan, who introduces fear into students causing them to start fearing examinations.

Archdeacon Katushabe urged students to fight fear by reading their books, revising, and working hard to pass their tests and examinations. He also encouraged candidates to use the remaining time effectively by covering areas they have not yet revised, so that they can perform well.

The Headteacher of Kyabugashe High school, Mr. Herbert Kamuntu, also urged candidates to embrace peace during these final days and continue revising while maintaining good morals in all they do. He advised parents to provide a conducive environment for students who are currently studying for exams. He further cautioned candidates to avoid  “multipractice” during examinations, noting that it is not good.

He encouraged teachers to ensure that candidates are given enough time to revise their books.

Some candidates—including Oshabahebwa Gift, Wamaani Lucky, Nuwagaaba Charles, and Naturinda Shivan—thanked teachers and the school administration for the support and guidance they have received. They also appreciated parents for paying school fees and promised to do their best in the coming examinations since they have been taught well.

On the same day, the school also organized a retreat, where students were taught the gospel of the Lord by different preachers. The event also included the handover of new prefects
