NEWS-Police are mounting investigations to discover the cause of death of a passenger who was found dead in a taxi in Kampala city.
The deceased has been identified as Peter Apangu and was today, Dec 30 found dead in a taxi registration number, UAU 859L.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson ASP. Luke Owoyesigyire told the media that the taxi was traveling from Katooke, Bwaise to Kampala City.
It’s alleged that when the taxi reached Nakivubo Mews, the taxi operators tried to wake up Apangu to pay the fares only to realize that he was dead.
Owoyesigyire added that Police Homicide team visited the scene where they realised the deceased had a swelling on the eye, an indication that he had been beaten or hit.
Police have conveyed Apangu’s body to city mortuary Mulago for a post mortem.
The taxi driver Semwogerere John has been arrested to help aid in the ongoing investigations.
