KIBAALE The police in Kibaale arrested a 25-year-old man on allegations of stabbing his brother to death over 2,000 Shillings.
The suspect is Pascal Busobozi resident of Igomero village in Kayoola parish Bwamiramira sub-county in kibaale district. Whereas the deceased is his 16-year-old brother Fred Asiimwe resident of the same address .
The incident happened around 11 pm on 28/11/2022 Monday night.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson said , it is alleged that the deceased owed Busobozi 2,000 Shillings that he gave him on Friday last week
The two brothers allegedly picked up a quarrel when the deceased failed to pay back prompting Busobozi who was armed with a sharp knife to stab him in the stomach.
Report says he bled heavily and was rushed to EMESCO Health center III where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The family head Edward Kyaligonza said that he heard Asiimwe screaming for help and rushed to see what was happening only to find him lying in a pool of blood.
Hakiza says that the residents teamed up and arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police. Police also recovered a blood-stained knife from the suspect.
The suspect is currently in custody at Kibaale central police station and will appear in court for murder.
