KABALE-Â Students at Kabale Nursing School are up in hands with their administrators over shortening of the semester irrespective of paying full tution fees.
According to students who talked to our reporter on condition of anonymity, they had an abrupt assembly on Friday with their Principal Josephine Nambiro Kigozi who told them that the semester will take only one month instead of 6 months yet they have paid Ugx 1.4M in tuition.
The students say that this prompted a section of them to defy and they were later on suspended which didn’t go well with other students who rejected the meals since Friday evening.
The students want the district authorities led by the Resident Commissioner (RDC) to intervene and help them before the situation worsens.
Another student also told our reporter that their Principal is not taking students’ complaints as priority but only minds about receiving tuition from them.
He added that the student’s need money they have paid for accommodation and meals if they are to go home earlier than prepared.
Another student said they have been given little time to pay tuition and their Principal is not considering students views.
When our reporter tried talking the Guild president Abel Ataho, he said that currently the school is under heavy security deployment stressing that no student can access the school gate.
When contacted on phone for a comment, the institution Principal Mrs. Josephine Nambiro Kigozi refuted the matter.
